Today my memory is a bit short... I had a list, but I can't think of away to approach any of the topics on my list.
So, today my memory is sort of several fragment memories... Sometimes when I am by myself I have random thoughts of places I have visited, or random scenery.
I remember running through this large fenced in area when I lived Haines City. I think it was a horse pasture or a cow pasture, and we were told not to go there, but we would sneak under the fence. I think sometimes that my sister and her friends would run through there because they would try to lose me.
I remember standing in the center of the quad at ballstate, and gazing up at all the lovely brick buildings, and the beautiful lawns between the buildings.
I remember going in the village downtown Ballstate, and the little bookstore where there were books from floor to ceiling.
I remember the ride to this ice cream shop in Indiana. It was called Ivanhoes, and was about an hour away, they sold more than ice cream but it was definitely worth the trip, they had great food.
I remember the windy drive through trees to my aunt's new house. She use to live more in town in Haines City, and a few years ago... okay maybe like 15 now, she moved to this place just on the edge of town.
I remember walk behind the Smithsonian Castle on my trip to D.C. and staring at the wonderful buildings, and feeling so free.
I remember the few times we went to Disney world starring at the Haunted Mansion and wishing I could live there. I still do... if I had a car, I would totally try to get a job there.
There are other I can remember... Sometimes the building don't necessarily have one memory but several. But sometimes it is nice to close my eyes, and just picture some of the buildings or scenery that I love
I haved loved the haunted masion since age 8. Last time I went to Disney World was 3 years ago. I still want that house and its ghostly company. My grandparents home in New Orleans was built sort of that style and I always wish it was haunted. Some many other things in New Orleans are haunted why wasn't it, was my favorite thing to say when going there. I still wonder every now when I'm down staying there.
ReplyDeleteThat is cool that your grandparents house was built similar to the Haunted Mansion. Maybe it was one of the houses used as a model.
ReplyDeleteThat is weird that it wasn't haunted.
You know, I never ever remember going into that pasture... I remember sneaking over to the side of it, and down that lane that led to Crystal's place... and I remember the big house over there and the piles of stuff we played in...
ReplyDeleteLovely memories, Amanda. :)
Abi- I am not sure we went into the pasture many times, but I remember a few times. I know we weren't supposed to though.
ReplyDeleteI remember sneaking down the lane too...
Thanks
