I hate this, but I can't really finish this.
It's not for lack of memories.
It's my shoulder. I've injured myself in a really bad way.
By doing... nothing. Apparently.
So I can't guarantee to be able to stand to sit here long enough to write a blog post every day.
I haven't in a few days. It's because I've barely been at my compy.
I'm on the mend and relaxing to let my shoulder heal... but I don't know it'll be back to normal within a few days or what.
But I'll see what I can manage.
Today I can't help but remember what got me this weak shoulder muscle in the first place.
I was in band camp, my second year. I got tired... very tired... and we had been marching a long time.
I finally had to take the pressure off my lower back and decided that rolling my shoulders forward would probably do the trick. I rolled my shoulders forward (holding up a marching baritone, mind you) and shifted the strain of the weight off my lower back and onto my upper back muscles. This tore my Rhombus muscle. Look it up. It's the muscle between your shoulderblade and your back that helps hold your back up straight.
It hurt like hell. I went to the Chiropractor that took care of me back then. He gave me a tens unit and a sling. He made me keep my weight off of that side for a while. It was rough. It was sore all season... and in fact, I almost had to not march some times.
The next year... I was in band camp again... and very tired. I walked over to the sideline and went to lay my horn down... I leaned forward... relaxed my back... and suddenly the same muscle shot up with pain again. I'd torn it again...
It would then ail me for years. I would lift something and find that old injury hurting too much. I learned not to roll my shoulders forward or relax my back in the wrong position. :(
But anyway...I need to go away from this now.
Too much typing here will aggravate the injury I've been carefully trying to let heal.
Have a good one folks.
I am sorry you won't be able to finish.
ReplyDeleteThat sucks you hurt your shoulder. I hope you are able to heal it.
I have been having nerve pain problems in my left shoulder actually my whole left side so I have an idea of the pain you're in. Take care of yourself and heal. I wish you a quick though healing.
